Wedding Risk Management

2 brides and a wedding magician

Wedding Risk Management. A True Story

Mark and Lesley booked Red Hat Magic to entertain at their daughter’s wedding reception and had booked entertainment between 1:30 and 3pm

The Risk: The reception would start late, the magician would leave early, they wouldn’t get their money’s worth and the guests wouldn’t have such a good time.

Oops: The reception didn’t start until after 2pm. Will the magician leave at 3?

What Happened: I stayed until after 4pm when they went in for their wedding breakfast (about an hour late) and didn’t charge extra.

Risk Management 1: Having a non time specific contract. For example “entertain during our wedding reception” rather than entertain between 1:30 and 3pm.

Risk Management 2: Hiring the right people. People like Red Hat Magic who are willing to go above and beyond the contract in order to make your event a success.

Risk Management 3: Hire experts in their field. This is from Mark (who hired me) “Thank you for your magic tricks on Friday, they were perfect for keeping the guests entertained and we had so many comments saying how impressed they were”

Life is full of risk but you can mitigate some of them by hiring Red Hat Magic.
